Ritu Singh, K D Hospital organise medical camp

Jammu, May 5 (UNI) – Dr Kunwarani Ritu Singh along with K D Super Speciality on Friday organised a medical camp at Balgran and Muskan Home here.

 

The medical camp called “Amanat” started on an auspicious note invoking the blessings of Shiva and Shakti with a prayer jointly sung by the inmates and the team of volunteers believing that prayers and medicines go hand in hand.

 

The event was organised on the auspicious occasion of Budddha Purnima.

 

The medical camp aimed to provide general physical, gynaecology, eye check-up and dental services to the children and inmates by an expert team of doctors from K D Super Speciality hospital, who included Dr JP Singh Ophthalmology, Dr Sumit Sharma CEO, Dr Pooja Padha Emergency Physician, Dr. Rupam Gupta Dental Surgeon and Dr. Sohal Goni Medical Officer.

 

The medical camp benefitted 117 children from Balgran and 49 inmates of Muskan Home, said a handout.

 

It further said that the registered 117 children from Balgran will receive lifelong medical facilities free of cost, including inoculation as and when required under the hospital’s CSR program.

 

It further added that such initiatives are vital for the overall well-being of children and inmates of such homes.

 

Dr Kunwrani Ritu Singh urged society to come forward and engage in the inclusion of these individuals into society.

 

She emphasized on the need for collaborative work with hospitals, doctors, nutritionists, educationists, and counsellors to provide sustainable support systems for children with special needs, destitute children, and the elderly.

 

In addition to the health facilities, for their overall development Dr Kunwrani Ritu Singh assured to provide academic and co-curricular support to the children on weekly basis such as, block printing skills, craft work etc to empower the children with a skill set that could make them independent.

 

She extended gratitude to the team of doctors from KD Super Speciality Hospital, President Balgran and In-charge ‘Muskan Home’ for their support in this noble cause.

 

She felicitated them with Khadi Certificates and plants as a token of appreciation.

 

Spreading the teachings of Buddha’s enlightenment, love and compassion, she quoted, “If you light a lamp for someone else it will also brighten your path.”

 

She hoped that the initiative will continue to provide medical facilities to those who need them the most and create a positive impact on their lives.
