Signal app users globally experiences issues, Company gives reason of huge influx of users

New Delhi : Since the arrival of the new privacy policy of WhatsApp, millions of users were simultaneously connected to the messaging app signal. At the same time, worldwide users had to face difficulties in using the signal app from Friday. Users tweeted that the signal app was down. The messaging app signal has also confirmed this.

Signal wrote in his tweet that they are facing technical problems and they are working to fix the problem. In a tweet, the company wrote, “Signal is experiencing technical difficulties. We are working hard to restore service as quickly as possible.”

Facebook-owned company WhatsApp had sent notifications to its users for the first time regarding its new privacy policy, but the new policy has become a big problem for them. Upset with the new privacy policy of WhatsApp, users are moving towards another messaging app. WhatsApp downloads in India have reduced by 35% in just seven days after the new policy was released. Apart from this, more than 40 lakh users have downloaded the Signal and Telegram app, including 24 lakh downloads of Signal and 16 lakh Telegram. Even after giving continuous clearing on WhatsApp, users are shifting rapidly to other apps. Now many top businessmen of India are also leaving WhatsApp and turning to signal app.

Since the announcement of WhatsApp’s new policy, users are getting ready to switch to other messenger apps like Signal and Telegram. In this regard, Tesla’s CEO and world’s second richest businessman Elon Musk appealed to new users to join Signal.

Signal launched a group call in December 2020 with its latest versions and delivered encrypted. The signal only stores your phone number as personal data and the app makes no attempt to link it to your identity. Whereas, Telegram asks for contact information, contacts and user ID as personal information.
