Terrorist attack alert in Mumbai, drones banned by police

Mumbai : The Mumbai Police has banned flying drones in the city after receiving input on the possibility of a major terror attack in the country’s financial capital Mumbai. The Mumbai Police has issued an order in this regard. According to intelligence input, in the coming festivals, terrorists or anti-social elements can execute a major terrorist attack using drones or remote operated light aircraft, air missiles or paragliders, whose target is VVIP or crowded places. Keeping this in mind any flying object has been banned.

The biggest ever terrorist attack in Mumbai took place on 26 November 2008, in which terrorists from Pakistan carried out terror attacks in many places in Mumbai and 174 people were killed and more than 300 people were injured in those attacks. There will be a festive mood across the country during November next month and Mumbai Police has received input that there may be a terrorist attack during the festive season. As a precaution, the Mumbai Police has already banned flying drones, light aircraft, paragliding for 30 days.

This ban will continue from October 30 to November 28. Police have imposed Section 144 in the entire city and have banned the mob. Police have become alert after receiving high alerts from intelligence agencies.

Public assets can be the target of terrorists
It has been feared that public assets may also be on the target of terrorists. Following the letter of the Intelligence Department, any flying thing has been banned in the area. The order said that this order will continue for the next 30 days. It was said that punishable action will be taken against the violator of this order under Section 188 of IPC 1860.

Along with issuing the warning, the police have said that the common people should not panic but be cautious. DCP Chaitanya issued an appeal to the people saying that there is no need to panic. Everybody be cautious.
