Three people held for accepting bets on IPL matches at Talegaon Dabhade


PIMPRI : Policenama onlinePune Pimpri Chinchwad Crime Branch News |  The Crime Branch of Pimpri Chinchwad police has arrested three persons who were taking bets on IPL cricket matches after laying a trap from Lake Paradise Society located at Talegaon Dabhade. Seven mobiles, a laptop, five notebooks and other goods totally worth ₹1 lakh have been seized. The Anti-Extortion Cell of the Crime Branch of Pimpri Chinchwad police took this action. The arrested accused have been identified as Romi Suresh Nehlani (36), a resident of Pimpri Chinchwad, Vinod Raju Satija, a resident of Pimprigaon and Lakhan Raju Gurubani, a resident of Pimpri Chinchwad. Police Naik Gulab Magar has lodged a complaint.


The Pimpri Chinchwad police had received information that large bets were being accepted in row house number 44 in Lake Paradise Society located at Talegaon Dabhade. Under the guidance of senior officials, the AEC of Pimpri Chinchwad police Crime Branch raided the row house on Tuesday night at 10.45 pm. At that time, the accused Romi Suresh Nehlani, Vinod Raju Satija and Lakhan Raju Gurubani were accepting bets on the IPL match being played between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The police seized seven mobiles, a laptop and other goods totally worth ₹1 lakh from the rowhouse. API Khade is probing the case.


Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey, Joint CP Manoj Lohia, Addl CP Dr Sanjay Shinde, DCP Swapna Gore and ACP Dr Prashant Amrutkar guided a team of officials including Sr PI Arvind Pawar of AEC, policemen Sunil Kangude, Nishant Kale, Kiran Katkar, Vijay Nalge, Ashish Botke, Ganesh Girigosavi, Shailesh Magar, Pradip Gutte and constable Nagesh Mali of technical analysis department in taking the action.
