Agartala, Dec 30 (UNI)- Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Friday wrote to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, requesting him to arrange a special train from Agartala to Ayodhya to enable the devotees of the state to attend the inauguration of the Ram Temple scheduled on January 22 next year.

The Chief Minister stated that the inauguration of Ram Mandir holds immense cultural and religious significance for millions of Indians and Tripura is no exception.

However, Agartala has no direct communication with Ayodhya and it is difficult for the devotees to reach the inaugural programme unless there is a point-to-point special train.

He proposed to start the train from Agartala with devotees at least two days before the occasion which symbolises unity, harmony, and the rich cultural heritage of the nation. Realising the significance of this event, a large group of devotees from Agartala is eager to participate and witness the historic moment.

Around 2000 devotees from Tripura are planning to participate in this auspicious occasion as pilgrims and they will start their journey from Ayodhya on January 23, and a special train can facilitate their travel hassle-free and affordable, Saha pointed out.

The CM said the support of the Union Railway Minister will not only foster a sense of goodwill among the people of Tripura but also uphold the spirit of unity and Inclusiveness that the Ayodhya Ram Mandir inauguration represents.

“Your prompt attention to this request will be immensely beneficial in ensuring the success of this pilgrimage. I would be grateful if you could direct the concerned authorities to look into this matter urgently and take the necessary steps for the to and fro journey of the devotees,” Dr Saha added.
