The Delhi mayor election was stalled on Tuesday for the second time this month as the House was adjourned indefinitely by the LG-appointed presiding officer following a ruckus by some councillors.

Oberoi had approached the Top court on Thursday and the case is likely to be taken up for hearing on Friday. Today, the Supreme Court being a holiday, due to the Republic Day, will open tomorrow, when Oberoi will mention the matter for an early hearing.

Oberoi, who holds a doctorate in management and is an alumnus of IIM-Kozhikode, began her journey in the party in 2013 as a volunteer. She worked for the party during the Punjab election in 2017 and the Haryana civic polls. In between, she continued studying.

She completed her PhD in 2020 and an executive course in management from IIM-Kozhikode.

The AAP has nominated Shelly Oberoi for the post of Delhi’s Mayor.
