ACB arrests Pune Police constable Prahlad Kshirsagar from Crime Branch in Rs 2-lakh bribery case
Pune : Policenama online – Pune ACB Trap | The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) laid a trap and caught a person, along with a police officer of Pune Police Crime Branch Unit 3, while accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 for not filing a case of mobile theft.
The two arrested have been identified as police constable Deepak Prahlad Kshirsagar (34) of Crime Branch Unit 3 and Simon Avinash Salvi (27). The ACB took this action in the Khadki area late on Tuesday night.
According to details received in this regard, the brother of the complainant was arrested in a mobile phone theft case.
Police constable Deepak Kshirsagar demanded a bribe of Rs 2 lakh for not making him an accused and not arresting him. The complainant then lodged a complaint with the ACB. After verifying the complaint, it was found that the cop had asked for a bribe. Kshirsagar demanded Rs 30,000 out of Rs 2 lakh from Salvi. A trap was laid on Tuesday night. Simon Salvi was caught accepting Rs 30,000 from the complainant.
Later, Kshirsagar was also taken into custody.
