Mumbai : Actor Vivek has died in a hospital in Chennai. He was 59 years old. Vivek was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai after a heart attack on 16 April. He was receiving ECMO treatment from doctors. He was kept under the supervision of doctors in the ICU. However, at 4.45 am today, he said goodbye to the world.
Vivek had also taken the first dose of Covid vaccine on April 15 at Omandurar Government Hospital. After this, he spoke to the media, where he told why he chose government hospital instead of private hospital for covid vaccine.
Before falling ill, Vivek had said that people have more access to government hospitals. He had said, “I want to tell you that the Covid vaccine is safe.”
Vivek had worked in Tamil cinema, was an actor as well as a comedian. He worked with Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Ajit, Vijay, R. Madhavan and Vikram. R. Madhavan’s film Run proved to be his biggest break. He was also honored with the Padma Shri Award for his contribution to cinema.
