Police inspector walks into ACB trap while accepting Rs 5,000 bribe in Aurangabad
Aurangabad : Policenama online – Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Aurangabad | The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Aurangabad arrested a police inspector (PI) while accepting a monthly bribe instalment (hafta) of Rs 5,000 from a sand transporter. The PI was taking Rs 5,000 every month for allowing transport of sand within the Walunj police jurisdiction and for not taking action against the vehicle transporting sand.
The ACB arrested PI Janardan Subhash Salunkhe (42) by laying a trap. He is attached to the Aurangabad City Traffic Police. A 26-year-old youth lodged a complaint in this regard. PI Salunkhe had demanded Rs 5,000 per month for allowing the complainant to operate his sand truck within the Walunj police station jurisdiction and for not taking action against his vehicle.
The ACB verified the complaint on Friday and concluded that the bribe was demanded. Later, the action was taken under the guidance of SP Dr Rahul Khade, Addl SP Vishal Khambe and DySP Rupchand Waghmare. PI Sandip Rajput and his colleagues laid the trap and arrested PI Salunkhe red-handed while accepting Rs 5,000.
