Kakinada, Dec 22 (UNI)- Andhra Pradesh Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials headed by Additional Superintendent of Police Ch Sowjanya on Friday arrested electricity sub-engineer Prasad for accepting a bribe of Rs 70,000 from a farmer.

Prasad of Maredubaka electricity substation near Mandapeta was caught red handed while accepting Rs.70,000 bribe from a farmer Mullapudi Srinivasarao of Dulla village for giving estimates on electrification of a bore well.

The farmer has complained to regional ACB authorities at Rajahmundry when the sub-engineer was wantonly delaying the estimates and insisting on bribe.

The sub-engineer accepted the bribe at the substation and kept the same in his diary when the ACB team surprised him.

He will be produced before the ACB court on Saturday. Inspectors Vasukrishna, Sathish and Srinivas and Sub inspector Wilson were the other officials, ACB sources said.
