Arunachal tableau showcases state’s rich culture
New Delhi, Jan 26 (UNI) – The Arunachal Pradesh tableau on Thursday showcased the rich culture of the frontier state at the Republic Day parade.
The tableau themed ‘Prospects of tourism in Arunachal Pradesh’ marched on Kartavya Path here.
Arunachal Pradesh, known as the ‘Land of Rising Sun in India’ is strategically located in the eastern most part sharing boundaries with Bhutan, China and Myanmar.
The tractor portion (front part) of the tableau depicted the Donyi Polo Airport entrance gate and the state bird- Hornbill, amid lush green landscape adorned by orchids.
The trailer portion depicted Shapawng Yawng Manou Poi, the annual festival of the Singpho tribe and the 1962 War Memorial of Tawang.
Major tribes of the state, attired in traditional dresses, accompanied the tableau.
