Pune : Policenama onlineAjit Pawar In Patrakar Sangh Pune | The Leader of the Opposition, Ajit Pawar, said, “Recently, individual freedom is being suppressed. Attacks on journalists are increasing. This does not conform to the culture of the state. Hence, attacks on journalists will not be tolerated in the future.”

Ajit Pawar released a book ‘Dhadpad’ written by senior journalist Shyam Daundkar. Ad Amarsingh Jadhavrao, Dyaneshwar Bhoite, President of PUWJ Swapnil Bapat, Chandrakant Bhujbal were present for the programme which was held at Patrakar Bhavan.

Ajit Pawar said, “Attacks on media are increasing. Journalism is the fourth pillar of democracy. However, the attacks on journalists are deliberately carried out. A journalist was killed in the Konkan region. Last week, activists of CM’s party threatened a scribe. In Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Nagar, a journalist was jailed for making a rap song. He was arrested for referring to ‘khoka’ and the arrest has confirmed news about ‘khoka.’ A leader is constantly speaking about HMV journalists and ‘chai biscuit’ journalists. In Pimpri-Chinchwad, a scribe was mentioned in an FIR in an ink throwing incident. When journalists came together, the scribe’s name was removed from the FIR. Is this the culture of Maharashtra? These incidents should not happen and hence, it is necessary to come together. Attacks on journalists will not be tolerated in the future.”

Speaking about the book, he said, “The book is a collection of stories about people who have reached great heights by starting from zero. I have been in politics for 32 years and Shyam Daundkar has been in this profession since then. The book is very readable because it lists achievements of people from different fields in a brief manner.”
