BJP scared of Priyanka: Balasaheb Thorat

Mumbai : Policenama Online – Maharashtra State Congress President Balasaheb Thorat lashed out at the BJP government and said that the government is scared and intimidated by Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi.

The Congress leaders from the State on Saturday strongly protested against the arrest of Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi when she wanted to meet the victims of the Sonebhadra massacre in Uttar Pradesh.

While protesting against the act of the Uttar Pradesh Police, Congress workers also cremated the statue of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Ten people were killed in a land dispute near Sonbhadra in Uttar Pradesh few days ago. Priyanka Gandhi tried to visit Sonbhandra victims. At that time, the Uttar Pradesh Police stopped Priyanka’s vehicles and detained them. On hearing this news, the Congress workers across the country were angered.

Congress workers, led by State President Balasaheb Thorat staged a protest over Priyanka’s detainment. They said that the arrest of Priyanka Gandhi by the Uttar Pradesh police is illegal.

“Is it a crime to meet the families of the victims of violence?” Thorat asked. He added that the Uttar Pradesh police should focus of arresting criminals than arresting Congress leaders.
