Circle officer arrested by Nandurbar ACB for accepting a bribe of ₹70, 000

NANDURBAR : Policenama online Nandurbar ACB Trap | The Nandurbar ACB unit arrested a circle officer red handed while accepting a bribe of ₹70,000 after demanding ₹1 lakh for releasing a truck which was filled with sand. The circle officer has been identified as Prashant Nilakanth Deore (42). The Nandurbar ACB took the action on late Monday night in the tehsildar office area. (Nandurbar ACB Trap)

 

A 37-year-old man had lodged a complaint with Nandurbar ACB. Prashant Deore had seized a sand filled truck from Chaufuli area of Nandurbar on February 21 and got it parked at the tehsil office. He had demanded a bribe of ₹1 lakh to release the truck.

 

The ACB team verified the complaint and confirmed that Prashant Deore had demanded a bribe of ₹1 lakh and had agreed to accept ₹70, 000 as the first installment. A trap was laid at the tehsil office area. Prashat Deore was arrested while accepting the first installment of ₹70,000. An FIR was registered against Deore at the Nandurbar Upnagar police station under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

 

The action was taken by a team of police officials including Dhule ACB DySP Anil Badgujar, Nandurbar ACB Police Inspector Manjit Singh Chavan, Police Inspector Prakash Zodge, policeman Rajan Kadam, Sharad Katke, Santosh Pavra, Ramdas Barela and Jagdish Badgujar under the guidance of SP Sharmistha Gharge-Walawalkar, Addl SP Narayan Nyahalde and DySP Narendra Pawar.
