CM Siddaramaiah to meet Modi in Delhi tomorrow
Bengaluru, Dec 18 (UNI)- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday said he is meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi tomorrow to discuss the drought situation in the state and also attending the Congress Working Committee meeting.
“The PM has given a date tomorrow at 11 am. I will meet him to discuss the drought in some parts of the state. I also will be attending the Working Committee meeting (of the Congress),” he told reporters here.
He will also meet the Congress leadership to discuss preparations for general elections and appointment of Congress legislators and workers to key positions in various state-run boards and corporations, Siddaramaiah said.
The CM will fly to New Delhi today evening, and meet union ministers on Tuesday, while his return journey is kept open.
The meeting with PM Modi comes in the wake of the Congress government’s reprisal against the central government for allegedly not releasing funds to carry out relief measures, despite the visit of the central team to affected parts of the state.
In a reposted, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on November 30 said nothing was pending from the central government and NDRF for the drought relief to Karnataka.
She alleged that the Siddaramaiah government had not sent the required paper to release the money to the state.
