Confidential data of 3.25 lakh Indians leaked in BuyUcoin hack

New Delhi : In yet another data breach, confidential data of nearly 3.25 lakh users of India-based global cryptocurrency exchange and wallet, BuyUcoin, have been exposed on the Dark Web. Confidential data of 3.25 lakh people associated with Delhi NCR’s global cryptocurrency Exchange and wallet company BuyUcoin has been leaked on the dark web.

Cybersecurity expert Rajasekhar Rajharia said that in this data, along with information related to the users name, email, mobile number, encrypted password, bank details, bank’s IFSC code, bank account type, PAN card number, passport number, deposit amount Information related to user wallet order and KYC details are included.

According to Rajaharia, there are also three backup files of six GB of data in the Mongadb database. Which includes data from BioCoin. BioCoin has more than 3.5 lakh customers.

BioCoin has clarified that it had reported the theft of data of only 200 people in the past. The data that was stolen did not contain any sensitive or confidential data. No one’s data has been stolen. The company trades digital assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple.

It is dangerous to get data leaked on the dark web because it is connected to the financial system which can cause huge losses to people. Last summer Shinyhunters were seen publishing leaked data.

According to experts, the Internet world that a person understands is only four percent of it. 96 percent of the Internet is such that it is completely secret and in the language of technology, it is called Dark Web or Dark Net.
