PUNE : Congress Mohan Joshi On Prakash Javadekar | Congress Vice-President Mohan Joshi said that Prasar Bharti’s decision to transfer the regional news section of Akashwani Pune Kendra from Pune to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar is a move to destroy Pune’s cultural heritage. In this situation, the former I &B minister Prakash Javadekar should speak with PM Narendra Modi and try to get this decision cancelled if he does not hate Pune. If this decision is not cancelled, the Congress will launch an agitation.

PM Narendra Modi and BJP are biased against Pune and hence, Puneites should come together and foil BJP’s plan. Since a huge metro station is being built at Shivaji Nagar and the move to set up a business centre on the four acre area of Akashvani which will benefit the builders, should be opposed Joshi said.

Joshi said, “When Punekar Prakash Javadekar was the I and B minister, because of his wrong decision, the NFAI lost its autonomy. The regional news section of Akashwani Pune Kendra has gone. The condition of Pune Doordarshan is pathetic. This is an effort to tarnish the reputation of Pune as the cultural capital of India. PM Modi loves Gujarat and Deputy CM Fadnavis loves Nagpur. Does Punekar Prakash Javadekar love Pune?”

“Punekar Prakash Javadekar may have won the trust of PM Modi by supporting the BJP government at centre which is trying to belittle Pune but Puneites will never forgive him for his anti-Pune decisions. Now, as penance, Javadekar should impress upon I and B Minister Anurag Thakur to change the decision regarding the shifting of regional news section of Akashvani. The Congress Party will stage an agitation to strongly protest against this move,” Joshi added.
