The accused has been identified as Pady Suresh Mhaske (19), a resident of Sinhagad Road. Policemen Amol Dabde and Amit Chivhe were patrolling in Dattawadi area. They came to know that a man was standing in survey number 132 area and he had a country made pistol. The police verified the information.
Addl CP Pravin Patil, DCP Suhail Sharma, ACP Rajendra Galande, Sr PI Abhay Mahajan, PI (crime) Vijay Khomne guided a team of policemen including PSI Chandrakant Kamthe, policemen Dayanand Telange-Patil, Amol Dabde, Amit Chivhe, Anis Tamboli, Amit Surve, Prakash Margaje, Kishor Vale, Navnath Bhosle, Saddam Shaikh, Prashant Shinde, Pramod Bhosale, Purushottam Gunla and Dnyaneshwar Shinde in laying a trap and arrested accused Pady Suresh Mhaske.
When the accused was searched, a country made pistol worth ₹30,000 was found on him. The Dattwadi police have seized the pistol and an FIR has been registered against the Dattawadi police station. The Dattawadi police are probing the case.
