First bullock-cart race after lifting of ban in Pune district, former MP Adhalrao to organise the contest on January 1

Pune : Policenama onlineThe first bullock-cart race will be held in Maharashtra in New Year at Landewadi-Chinchodi in Ambegaon taluka after lifting of the ban on bullock-cart races in Maharashtra by the Supreme Court.

 

Former Member of Parliament (MP) and Shiv Sena leader Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil announced this on Sunday. He said, “We have completed all legal procedures. We got permission from the Pune District Collector. Based on that, we have organised the first bullock cart race in Pune District on 1 January 1, 2022, New Year.”

 

MP Adhalrao Patil has got the first permission to conduct bullock-cart races in Maharashtra. Landewadi is the birth place of Adhalrao Patil. So, he took efforts to fulfill all legal procedures in time. He got the opportunity to conduct the first bullock-cart race in his hometown.

 

Adhalrao said, “The government has given permission to organise bullock- cart races on the conditions framed by the Supreme Court. The Yatra organising committee will take all necessary efforts to follow all rules strictly. Everyone will have to follow the rules set by the state government, so that the bullock-cart race tradition can continue without any obstruction.
