Helicopter with 27 seats on the anvil: CM
Gangtok, March 17 (UNI) – Chief Minister PS Tamang | Sikkim has a piece of good news for tourists and the Sikkimese population, ‘ We are trying to arrange for 27 seater helicopter, Tender has been floated,’ said Chief Minister PS Tamang, here on Friday.
‘There is an expectation that passengers will enjoy the helicopter ride from Bagdogra to Pakyong Airport, and that it will be less time-consuming,’ PS Tamang added.
However, he also confirmed that flights have been operating for two days at Pakyong (for G20 delegates).
‘Many foreign delegates particularly Bhutanese, Nepalese and Bangladeshis have shown interest in the airport,’ added CM.
However Tourism additional CS ML Shrivastava informed that under a scheme of the Government of India for International flights State has focused on three countries Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh, soon Sikkim is anticipated to get improved connectivity.
