Mumbai : Policenama online – Sacked police officer Sachin Vaze revealed before the Justice Kailash Chandiwal Commission probing the Rs 100-crore bribe allegations levelled by the then Commissioner of Police Param Bir Singh against the then Home Minister Anil Deskhmukh.
Deshmukh on Monday attended the hearing. His legal counsel Girish cross-examined Sachin Vaze.
While replying to a question, Vaze said, “I was attached to the Mumbai police commissionerate during my suspension. However, my help was sought in many investigations as though I was serving in the police force regularly. I was conducting panchnamas, taking statements, investigating witnesses, suspects, etc during my suspension.”
“The Raigad police sought my help during the arrest of journalist Arnab Goswami. I was doing this on the instructions of the Joint Commissioner of Police,” said Vaze. His cross-examination will continue on Tuesday.
