Pune : Policenama online – pune crime | A habitual criminal and his accomplices tried to murder a youth and his friend with a chopper following a minor dispute. The Warje Malwadi police registered an attempt to murder case against history-sheeter Ganesh alias Guddya Patekar, his friend Chikya Jagtap and their two accomplices. (pune crime)

Sonu Ramesh Shinde (23), a resident of Ramnagar, Warje, lodged a complaint in this connection. The incident took place at around 4.30 pm on Sunday at Shivaji Chowk, Ramnagar in Warje.

According to the police, Ganesh Patekar is a habitual criminal on the police records. Sonu Shinde’s vehicle hit Chikya Jagtap on Sunday morning. This led to an argument between them. Patekar intercepted Shinde when he was passing through Shivaji Chowk on Sunday afternoon.

Apparently, Patekar sought an explanation from Shinde over the dispute in the morning. Then he took out a chopper hidden under his shirt and tried to hit Shinde’s head. Shinde dodged his hit. The other accused then struck Shinde on his back with bamboo sticks. Shinde was accompanied by his friend Yash Chavan. Both tried to escape the attack by running away.

However, Patekar hit Chavan’s head with the chopper and tried to kill him. He also charged at people who tried to help Chavan and Shinde. Thus, he terrorised people in the area. PSI Padwal is investigating the case.
