Nitish should be made convener of INDIA: JD(U)

Patna, Dec 19 (UNI)- Senior JD(U) leader and former MP Ram Nath Thakur on Tuesday said that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should be made convener of opposition alliance INDIA.

Thakur told media persons that Kumar had initiated to unite opposition at national level last year which culminated into launching of new opposition alliance INDIA in Bengaluru meeting. It was important to fight unitedly against BJP in 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he added.

“Kumar should be made convener of INDIA as it would help in opposition getting better results in next Lok Sabha elections,” JD(U) MP said adding it was expected that good ideas and views would be exchanged during meeting of top leaders of INDIA in new New Delhi.

It was essential to oust BJP from power in 2024, he stressed. Thakur responding to a query of media persons on PM candidate of INDIA, said that issue would be taken up after name of the convener of the alliance was announced.

After next Lok Sabha elections, Kumar would be unanimously selected to lead the government, he exuded confidence.
