Panhala Jaguars emerge winner in the Second ‘Punit Balan Celebrity League’ Cricket Tournament

Pune : Policenama online Punit Balan Celebrity League (PBCL) | Mahesh Manjrekar’s Panhala Jaguars defeated Pravin Tarde’s Raigad Panthers by 19 runs to win the second ‘Punit Balan Celebrity League’ cricket tournament organised by the Punit Balan Group, featuring superstars, directors and veteran actors of Marathi film industry. In the final match of this tournament held at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Swargate, Panhala Jaguars team put up a challenge of 111 runs in 10 overs while batting first. Jay Dudhane (48 runs) and Siddhant Mule (48 not out) led the batting. The duo shaped the team’s inning with a partnership of 81 runs off 42 balls for the third wicket. Chasing the target, Raigad Panthers’ inning ended in 92 runs. Ajinkya Jadhav (28 runs) and Gaurav Deshmukh (24 runs) and Devendra Gaikwad (14 runs) played important knocks, but the team fell short by 19 runs and Mahesh Manjrekar’s Panhala Jaguars clinched the title.

 

Prizes were given away by Shobha Dhariwal, Vice President of RM Dhariwal Foundation, Janhavi Dhariwal Balan, Executive Director of Manikchand Oxyrich and Punit Balan, Executive Director of Punit Balan Group. Amey Wagh and Vaidehi Parashurami, who play the lead roles in the movie ‘Jaggu and Juliet’ felicitated the players. On this occasion, Pratapgad Tigers’ captain Sharad Kelkar, Sinhagad Strikers’ captain Siddharth Jadhav, Shivneri Royals’ captain Sandeep Juwatkar, Upendra Limaye, Mahesh Limaye, Sanjay Narvekar, Sanjay Jadhav, many actors and technicians from Marathi film industry were present. The program was moderated by Vishal Malhotra and Abhay Jaju.

 

Panhala Jaguars team, the winner of the tournament, was awarded with Rs 1.11 lakh and a trophy. The runner-up Raigad Panthers team was awarded Rs 51,000 and a trophy.

 

The title of Man of the Series and Best Batsman went to Jay Dudhane (Panhala Jaguars). Dudhane was given Rs 21,000 and an electric bike. Best Bowler Vivek Gore (Pratapgad Tigers) and Best Fielder Hrishikesh Joshi (Pratapgad Tigers) were awarded a trophy and Rs.11,111 (each).
