Pune : Policenama online – Pune Kasba Peth Chinchwad Bypoll Election | The code of conduct is in force for the Kasba Peth and Chinchwad bypoll. Hence, against this background strict action is being taken and seizure of drugs, alcohol and unaccounted cash has increased. Cash worth ₹43 lakh has been seized from Chinchwad and ₹5.03 lakh has been seized from Kasba Peth. In Chinchwad, 7.336 litres of alcohol have been seized and 313 litres of alcohol has been seized in Kasba Peth and it is worth ₹4.97 lakh and ₹20,650 respectively. In Chinchwad, drugs worth ₹94,750 weighing 3.58 gm and drugs worth ₹5 lakh weighing 25 gm have been seized in Kasba Peth.
In Kasba Peth, five battalions of CAPF and 1,500 policemen will be stationed and in Chinchwad, a battalion each of CRPF, CISF and ITBP will be stationed. Two battalions of RPF, 836 policemen and 169 members of Home Guards will be stationed. There are nine sensitive booths in Kasba Peth and 13 sensitive booths in Chinchwad.
Video shooting of 27 voting centres in Kasba Peth and 51 centres in Chinchwad will be carried out. In Chinchwad 12 flying squads will be stationed, seven squads for checking unaccounted cash, six squads for shooting, one squad each for checking footage and maintaining accounts. In Kasba Peth, nine squads for checking unaccounted cash and nine flying squads will be stationed, two squads will be stationed for shooting and a squad each for checking footage and maintaining accounts will be deployed.
