Pune Crime News: Goon terrorising people in Kondhwa area detained under MPDA, 56th action by CP Retesh Kumarr in 10 months

SUB HEAD: The highest number of action in a short span for the first time in the history of Pune Police Commissionerate

Pune: Policenama online – Pune Crime News | A hardened criminal, terrorising people within the jurisdiction of the Kondhwa and Market Yard police stations, has been detained under the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities Act (MPDA). This is the 56th such action taken by Commissioner of Police Retesh Kumarr. (Pune Crime News)

The arrested gangster has been identified as Ishwar Datta Chavan (27), a resident of Market Yard.

Ishwar Chavan is a criminal on police record. He has terrorised people within the limits of the Kondhwa and Market Yard police stations.

The accused, along with his accomplices, has committed serious crimes such as attempt to murder, extortion, causing grave injury, and robbery. He has four serious crimes registered against his name in the past five years. His activities has disturbed the public order in the areas. Citizens were not lodging complaints against him fearing harm to their lives and limbs.

Senior Police Inspector of the Kondhwa Police Station Santosh Sonawane prepared a proposal to detain Ishwar Chavan and sent it to the Commissioner of Police. CP Kumarr scrutinised the documents received and directed to detain Ishwar Chavan for one year at the Nagpur Central Prison. The action was taken by a team comprising Senior PI Santosh Sonawane, Senior PI AT Khopare and other police officers and personnel.

First in the history of Police commissionerater

CP Retesh Kumarr has been acting on criminals causing physical harm and damage to property and terrorizing people under the MCOCA and MPDA. Since he took charge of office 10 months ago, CP Kumarr has taken action 56 times under the MPDA. This is the highest number of actions in such a short period in the history of the Police Commissionerate.
