Employees cheat their employer of Rs 1.25 crore after collecting rent
Pune: Policenama online – Pune Crime | An incident has come to light wherein an employee, who was working for 30 years and who had been given the task of collecting rent of plots, cheated his employer of Rs 1 crore 20 lakh 28 thousand by colluding with another employee. (Pune Crime)
Sharad Digambar Kalbhor (57), a resident of Kalbhornagar, Chinchwad has lodged a complaint at the Chikhali police station. Accordingly, a case has been filed against Santosh Yashwant Mayekar and Sail Santosh Sayekar, both residents of Talawade. The incident took place between April 2013 and December 2021 at Sahyognagar.
According to the police, Santosh Mayekar was employed with complainant Kalbhor since 1990. Kalbhor owns 39 plots in Nandadeep Industrial Complex in ward number 165 in Talawade. The complainant had given the work of collecting rent to the accused. He accepted rent in cash and cheques. Instead of handing over the money to his employer, he deposited the money in his and Sail Mayekar’s bank account. The accused cheated their employer of Rs 1 crore 20 lakh 28 thousand 250.
