Pune crime | Goons extort a vendor by threatening with a weapon on MG Road in Camp
Pune : Policenama online – Pune crime | Local goons have been harassing vendors and stall owners in the city. Yet another incident of extortion by such criminal elements has been reported in Camp. A gang snatched away Rs 3,500 from a cloth vendor on MG Road.
The Camp police have filed a dacoity case against Shanu Shaikh (20) and four others. Saddam Asimuddin Hussain has lodged a complaint in this regard at the Camp police station. Hussain works as a footpath vendor on the road. Shaikh and his four men approached Hussain at around 11.30 am on December 7.
They demanded ransom from him to continue his business. Hussain refused to oblige. They threatened him with a sharp weapon and snatched Rs 3,500 from his pocket. API Shilimkar is investigating the case.
