Pune : Pune Crime News | The police have taken a strong stand against the nuisance caused by loud music in hotels, pubs, and restaurants. Regular inspections are being conducted to ensure compliance with noise regulations and to address the concerns of local citizens. Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar has instructed all police stations and crime branch personnel to take action against establishments violating noise regulations.

Since the implementation of these inspections, 35 hotels, pubs, and restaurants have faced consequences for their disregard of noise limits. The police are emphasizing that pub and hotel operators must adhere to the law and not disrupt the peace of society. The timing for playing music is determined by the license granted to these establishments, with some having a deadline of 10 pm and others extending until 10:30 pm.

The focus of these inspections is primarily on outdoor establishments and rooftop restaurants, as they tend to create more noise-related issues. However, hotels and restaurants operating in enclosed spaces are also urged to abide by the noise regulations and take necessary measures to prevent excessive noise from disturbing the surrounding areas.

Specific areas where this issue is prevalent include Kondhwa, Mundhwa, Yerawada, Chandannagar, Vadgaonsheri, Koregaon Park, and Baner. Residents in these neighborhoods have been suffering from the constant loud music, especially during weekends. Complaints have been made about the noise persisting until the early hours of the morning, with some establishments playing music until 3:30 or 4 am. The excessive noise not only disrupts the peace of the residents but also affects their ability to sleep.

In response to these concerns, the police are taking strict action against violators to ensure that the local community can enjoy a peaceful and quiet environment. In addition to inspections, alternative solutions such as the availability of Bluetooth connected headphones in some pubs have been implemented to mitigate noise-related issues.
