Pune Crime News | Two girls cheated by youth of ₹22.83 lakh while choosing life partner on website

PUNE : Pune Crime News | Two girls who got acquainted with a youth on jeevansaathi.com website pretended to send costly gifts and cheated the girls of ₹22.83 lakh. A 29-year-old girl has lodged a complaint (254/23) at the Chandan Nagar police station. Accordingly, the police have registered an FIR under the IT Act.

The complainant had got acquainted with Virat Patel on jeevansaathi.com. Patel promised to marry her and told her that he working abroad. He later told her that he was sending an expensive gifts to her. Later, she was told that the Delhi Customs had blocked the gift. She was asked to pay ₹32, 900 as import charges. Later, money was taken from her under the pretext of income tax and deliver charge tax.

 

Later, Virat Patel told her that he wanted to convert a cheque into Indian rupee and sought more money. In all, she paid ₹13.53 lakh but the person at the airport told her that she will have to pay more money. She informed her relatives and lawyer about the incident. When they told her that such things don’t happen at the airport, she realised that she had been cheated.
A girl staying at Kharadi was cheated of ₹9.30 lakh in a similar manner. The Chandan Nagar police are probing the case.
