Pimpri : Policenama online – A highly educated woman employed as a manager in a renowned e-commerce company was raped in a Jeep. The accused had taken Rs 8 lakh from her by promising to marry her. He cheated her by not returning the money. She was subjected to sexual assault. (Pune Crime)
The incident happened at Rahatani and Wakad between July 23 and October 7, 2021. The 30-year-old victim on Friday lodged a complaint at the Wakad police station. The police booked Ashvik Shukla, a resident of Balewadi in this connection. According to the police, the complainant is highly educated. She works as a manager in an e-commerce company. The victim and the accused got to know each other on a matrimonial website. The accused told the victim that he is employed in the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare as a director. He won her confidence.
Later, the accused told the victim that he had a business idea. Valuables from the Customs department could be bought at cheap rates and sold at higher rates. He needed Rs 40 lakhs for the business and has got Rs 30 lakhs. However, he sought Rs 10 lakh from the woman. Thus, she gave Rs 8 lakh to the accused.
Meanwhile, he forcefully had sex with the victim at Rahatani and Wakad. He also raped her behind a hotel in a Jeep at Wakad. Then she demanded back Rs 8 lakh given to him. He did not return the money and cheated her, stated the complaint.
The Wakad police are investigating the case.
