Pune: A woman living in Nigdi was duped by one person to a significant sum of RS 1.20 crore by defrauding her into the land purchase deal. In this case, a victim woman filed a complaint against the accused at Nigdi Police Station on Wednesday, April 3.

According to the complaint filed by the plaintiff woman, she was looking for land for her JRL Realty and Infrastructure Private Limited Company. At that time, she met Prasad Pradeep Konde-Deshmukh, who told the woman that he had 15 acres of land with him that he wanted to sell. Accordingly, the accused promised to sell her land, and they signed the complete agreement for 3.90 crore rupees.

According to the contract, the accused initially promised to take 30 percent of the amount as a deposit from the plaintiff and give the Earnest Money Deposit receipt of the land agreement to her. However, astonishingly, after taking 1.20 crore rupees from the plaintiff through RTGS, the accused reneged on his promise and started giving misleading answers to the woman about the Earnest Money Deposit receipt.

After realising that she had been cheated, when the plaintiff demanded the money back from the accused, the accused blatantly cheated her by refusing to give her the deposited amount. This incident was going on from January 10, 2024, to March 3, 2024.

After that, the aggrieved woman rushed to the Nigdi Police Station and lodged a complaint against the accused. Nigdi police took strong action against the accused, lodging him under IPC 406 and 420 and initiating special investigation into the case under Senior Police Inspector Shatrughan Mali.
