MCOCA action against Kunal Dharme gang at Sutardara, 66th action ordered by CP Amitabh Gupta
Pune : Policenama online – Lynchpin Kunal Dharme and his seven gang members were arrested under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). Serious body offences were registered against the Sutardara-based gang. This was the 66th such action ordered by Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta.
The action was taken against Kunal Hemant Dharme (21), a resident of Paud, Yashraj Hanumant Shinde (19), a resident of Kothrud, Yogesh Ram Dabade (21), a resident of Shivane, Dhiraj Nathu Kudle (27), a resident of Kothrud, Mahesh Shyam Satpute (26), a resident of Kothrud, Rohit Suresh Satpute (26), a resident of Sutardara, Santosh Nivekar of Paud and Tushar Pokale of Pune.
Preventive action was taken against them from time to time. However, they did not reform. Hence, CP Gupta ordered MCOCA action.
Senior PI Mahendra Jagtap of Kothrud police station prepared a proposal in this regard. DCP Purnima Gaikwad forwarded it to Addl CP Rajendra Dahale. Later, CP Amitabh Gupta approved the action against the eight gangsters.
