Pune: Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party MLA Sunil Shelke’s statement at the campaign rally of Maval Lok Sabha candidate Shrirang Barne has raised the eyebrows of many people in Maharashtra. While speaking at the campaign rally of Srirang Barne, Shelke indirectly took a dig at Mahayuti’s allaince after the Lok Sabha election.

After Shelke’s statement, the discussion regarding whether everything is good in Mahyuti or not started arising, and many oppositions pointed out the inner contradictions amongst Mahyuti’s leaders. It is said that this can impact Barne’s vote share in the coming election.

Earlier, MLA Sunil Shelke strongly opposed Barne’s candidature. Meanwhile, he went to request the BJP’s candidate in Maval, only to oppose Barne. However, on the order of his party supremo, Ajit Pawar, Shelke has started campaigning for Barne.

Meanwhile, in one of the rallies, Shelke, in front of former state minister and BJP leader Bala Bhegde, said, “After these Lok Sabha elections, assembly elections are scheduled within a few months. I just hope that till then Mahayuti will survive.”

Shelke’s statement has caused a widespread stir, and by doing so, Shelke has unnecessarily played into his opponent’s hands. After this, many people started questioning Mahyuti’s purported show-off of unity under Modi’s name.

Shelke further said, “What I suffered during my stint as an MLA in the last five years, no one will experience in the next twenty-five years. We are not satisfied with the politics of the past five years.”

“Our leader is Ajit Pawar. We are unanimously standing behind his stance. However, following Mahayuti’s dharma is not only the NCP’s duty. Shiv Sena and the BJP should also stick to Mahayuti’s promise,” Shelke added.

After this, it will be interesting to see how senior leaders in the state will react to it and how much this statement and internal murmur will cost Mahyuti’s candidate in Maval.
