Of the five districts of Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhaur and Solapur, Kolhapur district is not facing water scarcity. At present, no tanker is being operated in the district. Water scarcity exists in 78 villages in Maan, Khatav, Phaltan and Koregaon talukas. Thirty two villages in Jat and Atpadi talukas, four villages in Malshiras, Karmala and Madha talukas and 10 villages in Purandar taluka are facing water scarcity.

Water is being supplied through 134 tankers to 2.22 lakh citizens in 124 villages. Of them, 112 are private tankers and 22 are government tankers. For this, 103 wells have been acquired.
