Pune: Pune News | Ashok Pawar raised concerns about the basic amenities in Wagholi village, which falls under the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). He pointed out the need for improved water supply in the region. In response to his suggestion, Minister Uday Samant addressed the issue and provided information on the steps being taken to address the water supply concerns in Wagholi.

Minister Samant informed the gathering that the government has taken into account the growing population in the region, and accordingly, a water supply scheme of 56 Million Liters per Day (MLD) capacity has been undertaken through the Pune Municipal Corporation. This initiative is aimed at providing adequate water supply to the newly included villages of Lohgaon and Wagholi.

As part of this scheme, a total of 31 MLD water will be made available to Wagholi, ensuring a significant increase in the water supply to the region. Additionally, there are existing projects in progress to further improve the water supply situation in Wagholi. These include a 5 MLD water supply scheme under the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), and another 5 MLD water supply scheme, also underway through PMRDA.

Taking into account the collective efforts of these projects and schemes, by the year 2025, a total of 41 MLD water will be made available for Wagholi (Pune). The implementation of these water supply schemes by the Pune Municipal Corporation and PMRDA will play a crucial role in ensuring that Wagholi receives the necessary water supply to meet the demands of its growing population.

Minister Samant assured Member Ashok Pawar and the residents of Wagholi that the government is committed to addressing the basic amenities in the region, with a special focus on improving the water supply situation.
