Pune: PT-3 Applications Processed in PMC: Property Tax Relief for 90,000 Pune Property Holders

Pune: A few days ago, the state government was ordered to continue the property tax exemption for people living within Pune Municipal Corporation limits. After that, the municipal administration started filling out PT-3 applications from those citizens who did not get property tax exemptions. After completion of that form-filling process, around 90,000 property holders will get a discount on their property tax for the financial year 2024–25.

Giving information on the topic, Madhav Jagtap, the head of the taxation and tax collection department, said, “In 2023, the state government issued a separate order and instructed the Municipal Corporation to maintain a 40 percent discount in property tax. Accordingly, PT-3 applications were requested from the property holders of the city who use their own property and who do not have tenants.”

Responding in huge numbers to this appeal by the municipal tax department, approximately 90,000 property holders in the city had filled out PT 3 applications. After a thorough examination of these applications, property tax relief has been applied to people for the coming financial year.

“With this exemption, property tax bills will be sent to people starting April 1 through MMS, mail, online, and speed post,” said Jagtap.
