Pune : Policenama online – The Pune Police Crime Branch Unit 6 seized around 150 sacks full of gutkha and other valuables worth Rs 81 lakh under the jurisdiction of the Loni Kalbhor police station.
The action was taken on Pune-Solapur highway at Theur Phata. The truck driver, Pravin Duryodhan Jadhav (26), a resident of Gurslale, taluka Khatav, district Satara, has been booked in this regard.
The Crime Branch personnel seized Vimal gutkha weighing 4,000 kg worth Rs 56,48,820 and the truck used for transporting the consignment, totally woth Rs 80,98,820. This gutkha is sold at double its price in the market. FDO officials lodged a complaint in this regard. The truck driver, Jadhav, has been booked by the Loni Kalbhor police.
The action was taken under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Dr Ravindra Shisve, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Srinivas Ghadge and ACP Laxman Borate. PI Ganesh Mane, API Narendra Patil, PSI Sudhir Tengale, police personnel Machchindra Walke, Vitthal Khedkar, Ramesh Meman, Kanifnath Karkhele, Nitin Shinde, Nitin Mundhe, Balasaheb Sakate, Pratik Lahigude, Hrishikesh Takawane, Hrishikesh Vyavahare, Sachin Pawar, Hrishikesh Tilekar, Shekhar Kate, Nitin Ghadge, Suhas Tambekar and Jyoti Kale took part in the action.
