Pune: Pregnant Woman Raped by 19-Year-Old Accused in Hadapsar; Police Launched Rapid Investigation

Pune: A heinous incident of raping a pregnant woman took place in Pune’s Hadapsar area. In this case, a 23-year-old victim filed a complaint against the accused at Hadapsar Police Station on Wednesday, January 24.

The 19-year-old accused is identified as Yash Santosh Kekan and is a resident of the Kalepadal area of Hadapsar. As per the information, the accused and the plaintiff live in the same locality.

The accused was in love with the plaintiff and wanted to marry her. Out of this desire, he one day called the plaintiff, requesting to meet her. However, the plaintiff did not respond to him.

Therefore, the accused forcible took the woman to Srigonda with the intention of marrying her. Further, he sexually assaulted the woman in a private hotel there in spite of having a clear idea about her pregnancy. This incident took place between January 22 and January 24, in a hotel between Hadapsar and Srigonda.

Following the incident, the plaintiff immediately filed a complaint against the accused at Hadapsar police station on Wednesday. Police booked the accused under IPC 366, 376, 376/2/N, and 506. Further investigation is being conducted by Assistant Police Inspector Pravin Abdagire.
