“The Air Bubble agreement was signed for the Pune-Sharjah flight. The first flight will leave from Pune on Friday. This is the first time that the special agreement has been used to resume an international flight service. Passengers will benefit immensely,” said Santosh Doke, Director, the Pune International Airport.

Hence, passengers will have to wait for this flight from the city. However, the Air Bubble agreement came as a relief, under which the Sharjah flight will be started from the city airport.

The Air Bubble agreement was signed by many countries, including India, to start international flights when nations across the world banned them during the first wave. Two countries agree to resume flights during the pandemic on certain conditions. This deal is called the Air Bubble agreement.
