Pune: Swargate Police Bust Car Selling Racket: Three Arrested for Fraudulent Vehicle Sales

Pune: The Swargate police have arrested three people in connection with running a large network that sells cars to people on the basis of counterfeit documents. In this case, police have recovered six cars worth Rs 36 lakh from different places from the arrested accused. The investigation has revealed that the accused have cheated 15 to 17 more people by this method.

The accused apprehended in this case by the police have been identified as Ayush Abhay Kulthe, a resident of Gold Finger Tamara Society, Rahatani; Sujit Bhaidas Badgujar, a resident of Trimaya Society, Narhe; and Prathamesh Santosh Shete, a resident of Swapnanagari Housing Society, near Gurdwara Chowk, Akurdi, Pimpri.

This police action was taken on the basis of a complaint filed by Ganesh Baban Jagdale, 28, a resident of Khasgaon, at Swargate Police Station on February 25.

According to the complaint filed by Jagdale, the accused, Ayush Kulthe, introduced himself to the plaintiff as Navnath Khajine by making false documents such as an Aadhar card, an RC card, etc. Jagdale complained that Kulthe took a car from some unknown person on the basis of rent and gained his trust by pretending it was his.

Thereafter, Ayush Kulthe, Atish Nagtilak, Prathamesh Shete, Srikanth Ballore, Sujith Badgujar, Pravin Sonawale, and Akash Sonawale and their other accomplices sold that car to the plaintiff on the basis of forged documents and cheated the plaintiff by taking Rs. 3 lakh from him for the car purchase.

Working on the case, police officers Anis Shaikh, Shiva Gaikwad, and Sandeep Ghule of the investigation team of the crime traced and arrested the three suspects from different places. During the investigation, the accused revealed their involvement in 15 to 17 more such incidences where they have cheated people by selling cars to them with forged documents. Police have so far recovered six four-wheelers worth Rs 36 lakh from the accused.

This action was taken by the team of Swargate police, including Assistant Police Inspector Prashant Sande, Police Sub-Inspector Ashok Yewle, Police constable Anis Shaikh, Shiva Gaikwad, Sandeep Ghule, Sujay Pawar, Somnath Kamble, Deepak Khendad, Feroze Shaikh, Ramesh Chavan, Pravin Godse, and Anita Dhayatdak, on the orders of Senior Police Inspector Dilip Phulpagare, and Police Inspector (Crime) Geeta Bagwade, under the guidance of Upper Police Commissioner Western Regional Division Pravin Kumar Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police Smartana Patil, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Nandini Vagyani.
