Pune | Young badminton player dies in accident at Swargate
Pune : Policenama online – A young badminton player died in the city on Wednesday after she tried to overtake a garbage dumper from the left side at Laxminarayan Talkies Chowk in Swargate area.
While she was overtaking the vehicle, she could not see a four-wheeler parked some distance away. As she suddenly applied the brakes, her vehicle skidded and she came under the wheel of the garbage van.
The dumper driver ran away after the accident. The victim has been identified as Kashmira Prashant Bhandari (20). She was the daughter of famous firecracker trader Prashant Bhandari, stated an English news website. Kashmira was a successful sports person and had participated in several state-level competitions.
How did the accident take place?
According to details, Kashmira was going towards Laxminarayan Chowk from Suraj Garden for some work. She was following the garbage van. She tried to overtake the vehicle from the left side. However, a four-wheeler was parked on the left side. She suddenly applied brakes, her two-wheeler skidded and Kashmira came under the dumper wheel. The dumper driver fled the spot after the accident. The police are searching for him.
