PUNE : Sharad Mohol | The Pune Sessions Court on Wednesday acquitted notorious gangster Sharad Mohol and seven others in connection with the kidnapping, extortion and attempt to murder case registered at the Paud police station in 2011. The judgement was delivered by Additional Sessions Judge V.D. Nimbalkar.

In 2011, in connection with the kidnapping of a businessman, the Anti Extortion Cell and Paud Police had registered an FIR against Sharad Mohol and others for extortion, kidnapping and assault.

Even 13 years later, no witness testified on behalf of the prosecution and some witnesses testified on oath that they were forced to lodge a complaint against Mohol by some policemen. Also, no grabbing of any property by Mohol and others in the case could be proved.
After considering these factors, the court acquitted Mohol and seven others.

Sharad Mohol was acquitted two years ago in the murder case of notorious criminal Katil Siddiqui who was involved in bomb blasts in German Bakery, Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and New Delhi. Katil Siddiqui had been strangled in the most secure Anda Cell in the Yerawada Jail.

Adv. Vipul Dushing, Adv. Saurabh Tadvi, Adv. Bilal Maniyar, Adv. Tanaji Solankar and Adv. Vijay Singh Thombre appeared on behalf of the accused.
