Srinagar, Dec 29 (UNI)- Police on Friday booked three notorious drug smugglers under Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act in Jammu Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
The most wanted and notorious drug smugglers were identified as Suhail Ahmad Sofi, Zahoor Ahmad Bhat both residents of Solinda Khaipora Tangmarg and Waseem Ahmad Dar of Watalpora Tangmarg, police said.
Acting tough against drug smugglers and to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police booked 3 most wanted and notorious drug smugglers under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla and lodged them in Central Jail Kot-balwal Jammu after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority.
Pertinent to mention here that many cases are registered against these drug smugglers and they were involved in promoting drug abuse by supplying drugs to local youth of Tangmarg areas & other areas of the district.
Despite their involvement in many FIR’s they did not mend their activities and were again involved in promoting drug abuse by supplying drugs to local youth, police added.
