The accused is identified as Vikrant Dashrath Jagtap (38) from Uruli Kanchan. The incident took place on July 14, 2022, on the railway line between Handewadi and Manjari. Police Sub-Inspector Sushil Damre has lodged a complaint at the Hadapsar Police Station. The woman who committed suicide has been identified as Taramati Ashok Suryavanshi (38) from Beed.
According to the police, a woman was found injured on the railway line between Manjari and Handewadi. She was brought to the Sassoon Hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
The police inquired about this from her relatives. Taramati left her husband after marriage and was living with Vikrant Jagtap from 2016. Vikrant used to beat her, harass her mentally and not allow her to eat. Earlier, Taramati had tried to commit suicide by jumping out of Vikrant Jagtap’s auto rickshaw.
According to the post-mortem report, it was found that Taramati died by jumping under the train due to the harassment by Vikrant Jagtap. The police registered a case and arrested Vikrant Jagtap.
