Uday Samant | State minister Samant, former Mp Sambhajiraje survive speed boat mishap
Kolhapur/Raigad, Apr 3 (UNI) – State industry minister Uday Samant and former member of parliament Sambhajiraje Chhatrapati had a narrow escape a speed boad accident when its captain lost control and the boat collided with pillers at Mandva jetty in Raigad district on Monday.
Samant, also the district guardian minister of Raigad, was on way to Alibag along with Sambhajiraje, who is president of Raigad Development Authority, to take part in review meeting of preparation of 350th coronation ceremony of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Raigad fort. The ceremony is to be held at district collector office in the presence of Kokan commissioner Dr Mahendra Kalyankar, MLA Mahendra Dalvi and others.
When the boat came close to jetty at Mandva, the captain lost control on it and the boat barged below part of the jetty and hit pillars. Fortunately, both Samant and Sambhajiraje escaped unhurt.
