Mumbai : Policenama Online – Nationalist Congress Party Spokesperson Nawab Malik claimed that over 1,300 farmers from across Maharashtra have committed suicide over the past six month and reason is of drought.

When entire world is facing drought, crop loss and government’s apathy, he tweeted this. Earlier in the day, a 17-year-old daughter of a farmer committed suicide by consuming pesticide at her house in Solapur as she was unable to pay one lakh admission fees for the B.Tech course in time.
Frustrated over non-payment of fees before July 20, Rupali had argument with her family post which she consumed pesticide at her house.
