API Pawar from Kotwali PS, Ahmednagar booked for agreeing to accept Rs 25,000 bribe
Ahmednagar: API Vivek Ashok Pawar (35) from the Kotwali police station, Ahmednagar has been booked for demanding a bribe of Rs 30,000 and agreed to accept Rs 25,000.
According to the details, the complainant’s cousin and his four accomplices were booked by the Kotwali police in a case. API Pawar demanded Rs 30,000 bribe to help them avoid getting arrested and facilitate their anticipatory bail. After a compromise, the API agreed to accept Rs 25,000.
The complainant did not want to pay the bribe. Hence, they approached the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). During the verification of the complaint, it was confirmed that API Pawar had agreed to accept Rs 25,000. Hence, a case has been registered against him.
Under the guidance of Nashik ACB SP Sharmishta Gharge Walawlkar, Addl SP Narayan Nyahalde and DySP Narendra Pawar, PI Sandeep Ghuge, policemen Eknath Baviskar, Prakash Mahajan and Nitin Netare took the action.
