Armed Forces Medical College hosts national online meet on ‘Ocular Trauma- Evolving Trends’, EYECON 2021
Pune : Policenama online – The Department of Ophthalmology, Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune hosted a national online conference on ‘Ocular Trauma- Evolving Trends’, EYECON 2021 on Friday and Saturday.
The conference included several talks by speakers of national and international repute. Various scientific updates were discussed and the resulting wisdom consolidated for the benefit of students and practicing healers in uniform.
The keynote address was delivered by Padma Shri Prof S Natarajan, a renowned Vitreoretinal surgeon, who is currently a Board member of the International Society of Ocular Trauma and President of the Asia-Pacific Ophthalmic Trauma Society.
A compilation of scientific articles and updates in the field of ocular trauma was released as an e-souvenir. A CD highlighting pearls and pitfalls in the management of ocular trauma was also released for the benefit of practicing ophthalmologists. Several delegates participated and interacted virtually in the conference, conducted successfully against the backdrop of the Covid pandemic, marking it as a milestone in the annals of the Armed Forces Medical Services.
