Congress MP Ranveet Singh Bittu attacked at Singhu border, turban pulled off

Chandigarh: Congress MP Ranveet Singh Bittu was allegedly attacked, pushed around and his turban pulled off as described by him by some ‘mischievous elements’ at the Singhu border during a ‘Jan Sansad’ program.

 

The Ludhiana MP’s vehicle was also vandalized at the Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Memorial where he was accompanied by Amritsar MP Gurjeet Singh and MLA Kulbir Singh. Ranveet Singh.

 

In a Facebook post, he wrote, “Some anti-social elements whose motives are unclear tried to aggravate the situation by attacking the three of us,”.

 

Ranveet Singh, the grandson of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh, have been protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi for the past few days in support of the ongoing farmers’ agitation against the Centre’s three agricultural laws.

 

Describing it as a ‘murderous attack’, Ranveet Singh claimed that some people beat him and pulled his turban.

 

Some people were trying to save him and escorted him to his vehicle. However even after Ranveer Singh got into the car, some people attacked his car with sticks, broke its glass panes, rear windscreen, and damaged its front windshield.

 

In a Facebook post, Bittu also said that they were fine blamed some ‘antisocial mischievous elements’ for the incident. Meanwhile, MLA Kulbir Singh’s turban also came off during the incident.
